July 31st, 2007 · 2 Comments

The Tentmaker Group is launching it’s first training. On August 13th & 14th 2007 a group from the Tentmakers will travel to Las Vegas to observe and meet with one of the companies that is participating in Tentmakers. This company’s role fits well with the need for church planters and ministry leaders to fund a transition into ministry. Training for this role will take place August 27th through 29th 2007 in San Diego, CA. We expect a class size of 5-10 for this first round of training. This position is a consultative sales role, but allows for flexible work-schedules and the ability to work from home. If you are interested contact Tentmakers to learn more.

I live in Vegas and I am moving to Eagle, ID to plant a new church. I am interested in outside support. I planted my current church but I was fully funded for the first year. This time I am raising my full support. I am looking at other sources of income as well.

Amen, MaryAnn. I’m a mom and a part-time small church paotsr, and this arrangement has worked out well for the congregation and for my family. My daughter is now seventeen, so college is around the corner. At that point I hope to stay with my congregation, and also branch out to help develop creative forms of paotsral leadership for other small congregations. I hope to build on the work I’ve already been doing with CLPs in our presbytery. Here’s a question I have for the PC(USA): do we believe in the priesthood of all believers or not? If so, then let’s get creative!
